StorytellingWe can only create things we can imagine. Scientists, technicians, software developers, engineers all need fabulous imaginations. To build imaginations we all need to listen to stories.
Gael’s adventure/journey with storytelling began when she offered to tell stories to her daughter's class over 30 years ago. She was afraid that she would be obliged to murder someone if she had to listen to any more children stumble through the process of learning to read. Now storytelling has become an addiction. Gael has taken her storytelling skills into parents’ groups, pre-schools, primary schools, secondary schools, community groups, business workplaces, non-profit organizations and to conferences throughout Melbourne and country Victoria. She has also conducted workshops, storytellings and coaching at conferences in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and New Zealand as well as in Melbourne. Gael believes that there is only one number we need to know: 398.2 (the Dewey Classification number for fairy and folk tales). This is where we find the distilled wisdom of Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America, and all the islands in between. For more information contact: [email protected] |
